Hi all,

I'm new to the forum. I've been checking it out and reading through some threads as my girlfriend and I shop around for a van. We traveled for 2 1/2 months throughout the SW in my sedan, staying mostly in free/cheap campgrounds, and for 4 1/2 months in the NW in her 4Runner, camping and sleeping in the back in towns/cities. Now we're thinking about getting a van, but not sure if it's really in the budget...tryin to figure it all out for an upcoming stint of traveling again!!

Can't you sell either your or your girlfriend's car to buy the van? A lot of people here are buying used cargo vans in the $3,000 range.

Barter is often a great way to go. There's folks out there with a van who want a good car.
When both parties are happy with their trade its a win win.
