We just bought a 1999 Dutchman Classic 28 ft. camper. It needs TLC because my son-in-laws father hasn't been able to take care of it the last few years, but we only paid $200 for it so we can afford to make repairs. We want to travel to state parks and have it here at the house when family/friends come to visit from Ohio.

Hi Kellyh!!

$200 for a '99 camper is a heck of a deal!...(unless it's completely trashed, but I sincerely hope that's not the case!)

We have a TON of great state parks here to camp at in Oregon, so that's where we usually go.

Camping is such a wonderful family activity, and we raised our kids camping all over the country with them. We've camped with them to the point that now when we go camping on our own, they usually crash our campsite on us! (they're all grown now) But we don't mind...cause it's one of our favorite things to do with them!

Welcome from the Oregon Coast!!

We have to seal the roof and replace a section of the floor. We arte going to get a new ac/heat unit just because we don't want to be 3 hours away and no air. Income tax refund is the time to do all of it. It needs some trim replaced, 3 new skylights and we will probably buy new tires. It has a slide out where the love seat and table is which makes it seem much bigger. We are in our early and mid 50s, grown and married kids and just paid our house off last year. My husband has like 6 weeks vacation a year so this will be a good get away. We have a little dog (Yorkie mix) and now she can travel with us. We are as excited as little kids. LOL I don't have a clue how to do picks but when we get it fixed up I'll see if my daughter can post some.

Kelly, we are so glad you are sharing this grand new adventure with us!! It takes me back to the days of my first build and I feel all the excitement of those days all over again.

Hopefully it will also be a fairy tale with a happily-ever-after ending like it was for so many of us!
Bob
