Hi all,
I am new to your forum, my name is Robert. A little history. In 1993 I met a gentleman named Ira who was one of the best friends I have had. He had been on the road since the mid 1980's, I was in my mid twenties and he convinced me to try embracing this lifestyle. Over the course of 19 years we ended up doing business together and establishing a good friendship, however we frequently would be on opposite ends to the coast. At one point I was in Hawaii, he was in Florida, and we had a business we were running. I went on the road in 94 for a few years, this took me to Hawaii and back and all over the U.S. It was truly a great time in my life. Ira unfortunately passed away from cancer in 2012. I somehow ended up back in the corporate world then in government work which I am currently in. I am longing to get back on the road again and enjoy the freedom and simplicity of that lifestyle. I am waiting for the "right time" which is mainly having to do with financial timing. I know this is a smart consideration as from watching everyone else who chose this lifestyle some planning was involved. That being said, life throws us curveballs so maybe if I get a good one it will force my hand and get me back to the road sooner rather than later. I want to start engaging in the forum to refresh myself and learn more about how others embrace this lifestyle. I can already see you all doing things we either didn't think of doing back then or were afraid to do, but I am intrigued and will be watching and learning to prepare for my eventual return. Cheers All!!
