Greetings,
I just found this wonderful site full of great info. I am a photographer and for the last 2 years my 2 young kids and  I have spend 3 months out of the year living off the grid tentcamping or in the back of the metal pony. I have come to the conclusion that there is not enough yoga in the world to make sleeping in my 4Runner comfortable so I am looking for an off the grid camper.
This is my wishlist:
-Can go anywhere my 4Runner can - high clearance.
-Can sleep 2 adults and 2 kids - snug is fine.
-Be stealth enough to fool the over zealous park patrols and blend in.
Reasonable priced - got cash - live in the  north midwest.
If any of you have one or know of something that might fit, please send me a private message.
Thanks

Welcome to the CRVL forums Rainbow!  I'm not familiar with any specific companies but a quick search for off road camping trailers came up with Livin Lite RVs - https://www.livinlite.com/bearcat13bhb-overview.php  Perhaps one of their designs will work for you.

What do you mean by " stealth enough to fool the over zealous park patrols "?  For the most part rangers are only enforcing the rules which should leave you in the clear so stealth is not really an issue.

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started.   We look forward to hearing more from you.

Look for a good used Sportsmobile. A Tiger might fit the bill, too, but finding used ones is very difficult.

I think a Runaway camper would work well for you. You can see in the pictures they are quite capable off road. I also don't know what you men by fooling the Ranger. You can disperse camp in most National Forest and BLM land.  Do you want to be in one spot more than 14 days? Don't try to fool National Park Rangers, that will end badly.

The 6 x 8 would work well and be 1000 times better than a tent.

This is the 4 x 8 but the 6x8 would work just as well, only a litttle wider

Off road pop ups are popular here and have good clearance.
