I am very new to this. I am going on a road trip and will be looking for one night's parking in Indianapolis, IN, and one night in St. Louis MO. Any recommendation on where to park?

Hello,
When I am moving from state to state I use truck stops and rest areas for 1 night stops. I have never had an issue parking at Loves or Flying J/Pilot travel centers overnight. Ive found that if I arrive before 7pm there has always been a spot to park, it will fill up later in the evening.
Also, Rest areas will most often allow 8 hour parking without any rule violations.
This week I plan to travel about 650 miles to my next 14 day camp. I will use rest areas and truck stops for overnights as I do not want to make the trip all in 1 day.
Good luck
God Bless

This weekend?
No - I guess I should have said! We will be traveling to MO from 9/14 - 9/16. We need a place to park in Indianapolis on 9/14 and St Louis on 9/15.

Thanks for the tip!

I've mainly used Wal-Marts but also Cracker Barrels a few times.

Search for state or county parks in those areas for campgrounds.

Truck stops and rest areas tend to be pretty noisy.

Also, Cabela's in many places allow overnight parking. The one I stayed at had marked RV parking and a dump station.
Cracker Barrels (most at least) allow overnights, and it can be a great place to get a meal.

Doesn't look like it's very handy if you don't have an iPad or iPhone, as it says it's only available for them.

There are casinos in St Louis along the river. At least one downtown, and Ameristar and Hollywood casinos in I70 west of the 270 loop. I stayed at the Ameristar casino in a large moving truck several years ago in the underground garage and felt very safe. Others were there as well. I would go in and eat a meal or something while there to look like I belong.

You can sleep in the rest areas OUTSIDE Saint Louis, MO, on 44.
There are a couple, before, and after the city. They are pretty safe. (Geteway Rest area Westbound, and St Clair Rest area westbound)
There are also rest areas before and after the city of Indianapolis, as well as a couple in the middle of the way between Indi and st. Louis.
The further away you are from the city, the quieter it is.
They all have restrooms, water and vending machines.

this is pretty neat; I can use this info as well as the other person. I would like to visit these two areas some time in the future.
good to know the rest areas around these cities are pretty safe. the rest area here in San Diego are not that way. A couple of killings over the years
