Hello fellow travelers.
I'm Elliott, I'm 38 and living on Long Island NY. Originally from London U.K.. I have joined the site as I enjoy getting out there and hope to meet some people and hear their stories, get some ideas on how to better enjoy my hobby. Maybe turning it from a hobby to a full time way of life.
I am a part time "explorer" at the moment, I knew I wanted to keep a stick and bricks base so rented a two bed condo with a good friend. So that way, when I travel I haven't got to worry about my house being left empty.

My lease was up last month (Sept 2016) on my sedan so a while before then I started looking into something more suitable. High gas mileage so I can travel many miles cheaply and having the room to lay flat when I sleep where high on my list. Also was a hybrid, so I can use the AC with the gas engine off, coming on every so offen to charge them. I looked at used cars of course but to cut a long story short when looking into interest charges, warranties  and the uncertainty of buying used as I'm not a mechanic, I decided to buy new. There were some huge incentives happening, plus I got an end of model year car. I now have a Ford C-MAX Energi. This car worked out cheaper a month to buy new than a 2014 Plug-In Toyota Pruis from a Toyota dealer. Very happy with it so far. Been getting regularly over 50 miles per gallon even without it being charged. I do hyper mile when I can.

I very much hope to be at the RTR in January 2017 and make some new friends.

Believe me when I say, it is nothing like the wonderful videos from Bob and Jamie, the camera isn't always pointing where it should. I just wanted to have something to show you guys other than words on a screen. I feel it's nice to see who you're in touch with.

Thank you for reading.

Be safe out there
