I just learned about this and it looks really promising: http://www.dry-flush.com/videos/

It essentially uses an automatic plastic liner that changes out with each "flush" and compacts the waste into its own sealed compartment. When full you toss it in a trash bin.

No odor, no water usage, no backwater tank needed. If I were using it I might still default to a container for urine simply to stretch out the number of uses per cartridge and decrease cost, but this seems like a really attractive, convenient option.

Anyone else heard of this or considered it?

I have not heard of it but looks rather spiffy. I'd consider it if I had more space. Cool find.

Hi Bitty,
A bit expensive initially and will cost $1.25 a flush afters using their cartridges. I read on another forum from several folks who said there is indeed odor, the wrap around cartridge does not always work and then backs up and you have a mess in your van, that you don't get the advertised 17 flushes per cartridge, more like 4-8. I don't know. For me, a luggable loo or rv toilet used with double bags and cat sand is the cheapest, easiest, cleanest way to dispose of waste.

If you're going to spend that kind of money, IMO it's better off spent on a C-Head composting/separating toilet instead.

Measurements on the Laveo - 21"x16"x23" - larger footprint than the C-Head 20"x18"Hx15".

You don't have to recharge the rechargeable battery on a C-Head because it doesn't have one.

You don't have to re-order $59.95 cartridges on a C-Head because it doesn't use any.

My cost to operate the C-Head is a package of pine shavings from W/M at under $4.00 every 6 weeks or so and a pair of trash bags (I double bag for safety... :) )every month or so. Oh yeah, and a new gallon jug of water every few months so I have a new jug to use instead of the old cruddy looking one.... :D  I buy a gallon for 88 cents at W/M, drink the water, use the jug.

How long are the cartridges going to be available. Plain plastic bags can be found in any store. Or shopping bags may be around a bit longer than that company.
