Welcome Hgto. Sounds like you’re doing the right thing the thing I didn’t do build up that savings so you have the income when it comes time to living on the road. If I break down I’m in deep Doo Doo and I have to call in some favors. Thank God for family and friends. But I am working on saving now. We’ve been able to start with a decent rig without too many miles and years on would be wonderful peace of mind. Get to know the rest of the folks on here most of them aren’t as crazy as me and we like getting to know you and your plans.

Welcome hgto to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome to the CRVL Forum    :)

Sound like you will be prepared.....well prepared in fact.

Are you living in your slide in full time now ?   Or just camping in it whenever you can ?

Below are a couple of links to websites that may be of interest to you.

1) Van conversion which covers converting Utility Trailers and converting a bicycle to a motorized "grocery getter".

2) A Portal of information to enable one to plan a trip from home and use the "Google Peg Man" to take the trip virtually to see what would be there.  Even the option to plan side trips to see sites & attractions.  There is also a library of links, all of which will make for a safer, more comfortable, and convenient life on the road.
(even a link under the "Staying Awhile" category to numerous old Boy Scout Handbooks & Manuals in .pdf)

All the best !
