I've been reading Travels With Charley by Steinbeck and I've found it to contain quite a bit of fascinating first-hand interview recollection with some of the earliest modern nomads... Or people who seemed to be ready to adopt a quasi-nomadic lifestyle in early RVs... At least so far as I have in the book so far.
