I saw this site where architects are designing mobile homes. They have some good ideas, like the one where the bed is built under the floor. Ain't for me though....not with these knees, LOL. The bike one is cute for campers.

Cool site, She. Makes me want to build something.

I like the sink which rotates to reveal a toilet seat beneath

Yeah, I happened upon that site a few days ago. A lot of the stuff on it is.. interesting, but that's about it. Problem is, much of the stuff seems meant to be looked at and not actually used long term. One of the most interesting and practical books I've ever read concerning mobile living was one concerning the outfitting of sailboats and yachts. This was over 20 yrs ago and it makes all RV's Ive seen look like the cheap cr*p they are.
Tongued wood slide out beds (from sofa to bed with no hinges and no CONDENSATION/MOLD problems, flip up sinks that nested in a wall, and a bunch of other cool stuff. Didn't even take any advanced woodworking skills to make much of it and, now that I'm thinking of it, maybe I'll see if there are any websites devoted to the same things.
They try to make motorhomes as light as possible, for better gas milage, I guess. My motorhome is made out of balsa wood, or something, super light.

I've noticed a lot of new motorhomes are using particleboard cabinetry with wood veneers.. talk about heavy, cheap, and lacking in durability. Get that particle board wet and, after a while, you end up with just a buncha particles. The old style wood laminate construction, on the other hand, was light, tough, and helluva classy. Even the stapled laminate construction beat what they have now.
