My COLA (Cost of Living Allowance) for 2017 is .3%. I'm not sure what to do with that extra $10.00 or so. Stocks? Bonds? Lunch at McDonalds?

Save it up a couple months, and put it as a down payment on a tank of gas.

I would actually rather not get anything. To me that's an insult. Active duty got a bit more, they deserve it.

I haven't gotten my SS letter yet, but I'm sure it's the same as your Mom. I have sufficient funds to live on but the people depending on SS alone are screwed. Is that Political? If so the thread will vaporize. ERLH I hope your Mom Does well. Everyone else on here too.

Gunny,  you're Rich and I'm Big   Can you sing or play the Geetar?  Same bunch insulted me too.

I haven't picked up the snail mail, too cold to drag my scooter out so Don't know if SS has sent me anything. I don't care so much for me, I have other funds but someone depending on SS by itself is screwed.

I have a beautiful singing voice, makes kids cry and dogs howl. Never learned to play any instrument. 'fraid I is useless.

Sounds to me that you would be perfect to front a country western band . . .

I too got a $6.00 raise on SSI. So I will put that extra $6.00 to bills. That way I can put more money to saving for a van.

For my husband who is on Ss disability, the increase was offset by an increase in Medicare premiums so he gets exactly the same amount he was getting before.

From what I gather, the new administration is gonna slash SS & Medicare.. so you just might want to hold onto that cash. ..Willy.

Yep, that's what happened to me as well.  To add insult to injury I can't afford to use Medicare.
