I have a van!

I have upgraded from a tent to my very own van. I am so excited to make this purchase, a 1988 Chevrolet G20 conversion. The body is solid and the engine and transmission are in very good working order considering her age. I am currently going over some much needed maintenance, tune up, oil change, ect. I even expect to call StanleySteamer for a good cleaning on the inside! Thank you Bob for the inspiration to ride out the rest of my life in peace and happiness. Hope to see you all soon! Peace.

OK, some pics on the inside. I am removing the seating including the passenger seat. I am also removing the swivel bases. My thoughts are to use the passenger seat area for my solar batteries. I am removing the folding bench but leaving all the upholstered panels. I also want to do something with the rear a/c unit as the fan and fan housing are severely damaged. Perhaps I will install a rooftop a/c and/or vent. This is so exciting! I feel like a little school boy......lol

Yeah, I know what you guys&nbsp;mean. This brings back the same feelings when I was a kid and made a small clubhouse out of cardboard boxes on my front porch! It was&nbsp;my own little private space in the world, haha!&nbsp;I used to also make snow igloos and enjoyed&nbsp;playing inside of it too! Making customizations to my van has a satisfying feeling that I've accomplished something worthwhile to provide greater utility and comfort.&nbsp; The only major problem is that I don't know when to stop, haha! I'm constantly tinkering to make things better here and there. Plus it all adds up in $$ too!&nbsp; Oh well, at least I'm not spending money on drugs, alcohol, partying and hos, haha! Joke!

Vonbrown,<br><br>Handsome rig--congratulations on your find!&nbsp; The roof design with the skylight windows are really nice.&nbsp; Is it possible the Roadtrek designers took that roof design for their own? (Rhetorical)<br><br>I realize you are in the planning and doing stage so if an ample amount of battery power from solar panels is important to you for your needs, consider finding the appropriate panel solution for your roof first before adding anything else up there.&nbsp; <br><br>I have a '93 Ford E-350 with a molded high top.&nbsp; See the pic.&nbsp; It came with the roof air unit, the Ventline bathroom vent and a 12x12 solar panel (trickle charge).&nbsp; I (got excited &amp<img src="/images/boards/smilies/wink.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle"> added a roof vent in the recessed back area (for greater ventilation) where the solar panel had been and had the panel moved forward.&nbsp; Now that I'm thinking seriously about some real solar power I have less roof space to work with (is my point).<br><br>After you figure out your solar panel solution for the roof you will also likely still have room for the roof vent (or you can plan the panel placement around space for the roof vent) and if an AC unit suits your fancy, a 5K BTU unit will probably fit nicely in your rear door glass space.<br><br>Safaribob<br><br><br><br>

I have removed the old carpet and subfloor and replaced it with rubber mat in the driver area and installed a new subfloor. I am getting ready to install Traffic master Allure laminate flooring. Enjoy
