I found this roaming community just a few months ago. It was only by accident. Youtube recommended a Carolyn's RV Life video when I was watching vegan videos. I saw that she was a vegan woman, like me and she worked via the internet, like me AND she was wandering around in an RV. I had never heard of such a thing but I found it fascinating.
I LOVE to travel and have been all over the world. Well, I have never been to South America but besides that, ALL over the world. I have traveled across the US 6 times. I am a solo traveler but I have always stayed in hotels and the longest trip was only 3 months. I was hoping and planning my next trip which I had hoped would be along the Silk Road through Asia but everything came to a screeching halt when my little dog went blind. I can't leave her. EEEK...! I thought I was stuck... until I started watching Carolyn's videos and a whole lot of other people's videos.
You guys have inspired me and opened my mind to a new way of satisfying my gypsy spirit. I want to toss this little blind dog into a van and hit the road. I want to go for as long as I want to be gone. I will turn 62 years old in September so I will collect my social security which will give me the extra money I need will need for this van life. I have my expenses down so low now that it will actually cost me money to do this.
I love how generous this community is with their knowledge, support and know-how. I know I will need help but I hope I can "give back", too. I am a practitioner of Oriental Medicine and a clinical psychologist. I practice acupuncture and I am a Chinese herbalist. This knowledge and experience could come in handy for the community.
I also create Chinese herbal formulas for people who contact me from around the world via the internet. My herbal formulas are made for me and shipped from a Chinese herbal pharmacy in NYC. So I can be anywhere in the world as long as I can get an internet and phone connections. I think that will be my biggest challenge as hit the road in my stealth van.
I am hoping to be on the road by the end of October. I have a lot to do to make that happen. I have to find the right van to start with and then deal with setting it up to suit me. I am a real minimalist. This van living sounds like heaven.
I look forward to meeting you on this Sacred Journey.
