Basically a 3.2kw sun tracker setup that looks like a flower when erect but hides in a box in high winds.

Looks overcomplicated to me, so many things that could go wrong but I guess it is a step in the right direction considering how many people consider PV cover roofs an "eyesore".

I wonder what the net energy production is on that unit. The automation alone would use much of the energy its creating. Then let's talk cost and is Elon Musk involved? If so, we the taxpaying public are already paying for it even though we don't own one....

No, even normal old-school trackers don't use much at all.

But I'd be happy with truly flexible PV, to be incorporated into awning/tent fabric.
