Nothing like a clean slate to start with.

Grab some blue painters tape and start laying out the living space on the floor. The bed goes here and the dinette goes there exercise. It's worth the effort. It gives you some spacial awareness as you move about the cabin.

Keep things simple. Do you really need a 50 gallon water tank or will refilling 5 gallon water cooler bottles do the trick. No plumbing and electrical connections required.

Throw down an air mattress and sleep on it. You'll lay there working out the placement of lights and switches.

First thing I would do is figure a way to get 120vac in though the body. You'll need it to run power tools to do the fit out. Running a power cord though a window gets old fast. Next would be a temporary work station or table to support your tools and work off of. Next would be a chair to sit back and dream of all the places you want to see.

A good track saw will pay dividends. A Kreg Pocket Hole Jig is your friend.

I haven't talked this much in ages.

Just ordered:
12-2 wire 250'
12-10 spade terminals ... 50 (I think)

ANL fuse holder and fuse x2 150 amp
150 piece multi fuse kit with tools
Propane refill adapter
5 foot propane hose/adaptor
Wire loom
Blue sea fuse block 12 terminal
Color changing led light strip with remote .... groooooovy man
4 port 12v USB port

Then
5% window tint
Reflectix and bubble wrap for windows we keep open. Layered and custom made black pillow case type covers.
Fantastic fan

And so on.....

Thankfully we still have home base to get the intital work done.

Someone here, I think it was SternWake, Told me about MinnKota AC Power Port.  To install you drill a hole, on my Safari it will be rear door driver side.  One piece of the port goes in from the out side and the other goes in from the inside.  Match them up and then plug in a power cord plugged to shore power in the outside of the port and you have a electric outlet inside your vehicle
:D      it's majic!  Someone tell me I got this right?  They have them on Amazon.

Builds are a personal thing. Be willing to take criticism good and bad!

Be careful with the 150 fuse kit they might not be the standard ATO/ATC fuses that the blue seas fuse block uses.

Also cheap fuses rarely blow at their ratings. I took a hammer to my budget fuses, as it was cheaper than a fire. Use Bussman brand, and they are not cheap.

Be careful that the 2 or 4awg wire you buy is not copper clad aluminum. Wire sold in Autoparts store is SAE gauge, which is 6 to 12% thinner than AWG, with less current carrying ability. the ring terminals precrimped on store bought SAE cables are usually Steel, which is a poor electrical conductor and rusts

Wire ends are called ring terminals.

i recommend buying quality components from this guy:

Junk wire with junk terminals crimped poorly, is a waste of time money and effort when it needs to be redone all too soon, or fails, causing a meltdown.

I'm a fan of Ancor wire and BlueSea products.

The wire, sleeved as a pair, is a pleasure to work with. BlueSea has a catalog that is a great reference, even if you don't plan to use their products.

Does the rear seating area have its own A/C and heating unit?
If it does, I'd look into the ability to run it off a converter when your plugged up to shore power.

Think of this effort as your Tiny House on wheels.

Congrats Mr and Mrs Bleep! That is one beautiful rig. What an amazing canvas to start a build from. My uncle lives in Alaska and now snowbirds out of there in the winters because he's retired. He has a 2002 Class C motorhome with the V10 with 220k miles on it and he loves it. He bought it used with 22k miles and had the plug fix done the same day he bought it so he'd never have to worry about it.

- The kit says ATO/ATC fuses. I will look into the bussmans for sure :)

- The ring terminals are copper, as will my wire be. I used to help build "indoor, controlled environment agriculture" grow spaces for people so I would never buy CCA wire. I plan to buy mine from a marine supply store, I used to live on a VERY large body of water here in the ozarks so I think I should be able to get a decent price, I hope hahahaha

Thank you so much for taking the time to help us out, it means a lot to the Mrs. and I as we want to do it all right the first time to avoid having to mess with it.

Any suggestions on where to find affordable batteries? That's our next big ticket item.

Peace, Love and travel
