So... I'm stuck at a truck stop in Oregon. I was in the middle of a 2 hour youtube video blitz when I stumbled across this cool vid. I just realized how boring and mundane life has become for myself. Anyone on this board into rc type fun?

I had a Maxxis BB nitro 4x4 I played with till it melted a piston. I'm thinking about something a lil quieter like an electric drone quad copter. I was checking out some YT vids on the Phamtom 3. The owners are boasting a 25 min fly time om one charge. Mabe make some extra money with this lil $1400 toy? Geeks and hobbyists care to chime in?

The Singapore jet is beyond awesome!

The Sperry corporation runs a drone aircraft program at Tyndall AFB in Florida.  During my time there in the late 70's, they used the Convair F-102A Delta Dagger as a drone target, flying over the Gulf range.  They still had a few older F-100 Super Sabre drones, and a few F-4 Phantoms.   Nowadays they have their own separate facility and runway across the far side of the base, using mostly F-4 Phantoms and a few F-16s and F-106s.  I kinda hate seeing the Convair F-106 Delta Darts I worked on being expended this way, but such is 'progress'.  The "Six" has a data link system allowing remote control by ground personnel during it's interception mission, so I imagine the drone mods were fairly straight forward for it.   We also had the tiny Ryan Firebee drones.
I'll bet the young contractors have fun flying these things against the USAF fighters.  Every two years they hold the "William Tell" weapons meet, where several squadrons send their best to compete against each other, and against the drones.  Fun time for the pilots!

Last year a fellow from the house behind me came knocking on my neighbor's and my door, wanting to look into our yards for his helicopter. There was a slight wind, and it went down. I don't know if he ever found it, and he was not happy. He watched it come our way, but it was not in either of our yards.
