is there a reason i dont see these being converted,looks nicer build quality then cargo,newer once are spendy but those horse folks really like their horses..and if you are getting 4x the rig for 2x the money,thats a win

Most of the two horse trailers are pretty narrow. I think they do that to give the horses side support.
If you do go for one make sure the floor and frame is not been rotted out from urine.
Once the smell has gone into the plywood floor, it may be a challenge to get it out.
 
The width of most small trailers is 6ft interior. Some of the larger aluminum trailers are 7ft. The main body of the trailer sits between the wheels, not above the wheels as with most TTs and 5W. They are heavier than most cargo trailers but they are basically built on the same concept.
