Hi Belinda, welcome!

As far as earth friendly soap, look up Dr. Bronners, I use it for everything from washing my hair, my body, clothes, etc, when I go camping.  And the bottles are a hoot to read.

Great soaps!  Can still remember my Grandmothers hair smelling of it!

I learned a painful lesson with the liquid peppermint soap, using a squirt bottle and the nozzle was clogged, so I squeezed really hard and the soap shot into my hand and splashed right into my eye... that stuff stings like the devil when it's in your eyes!

Until June 2018, you might consider looking at used RV's. You may stumble upon one that will suit your needs and price range.

June 2018 until I have FREEDOM... I only have until May of this year to find a vehicle (mine will not pass inspection without major repairs that I don't want to waste money on if I'm going to buy a van to live in). I originally planned to retire in an RV, but after watching youtube videos, decided it would be doable now (within 18 months) instead!  :D

My biggest issue with an RV is that I love museums and art galleries and libraries and old musty county courthouses (genealogy) and I need to be able to park in a normal parking space. I've looked at Class B's and they're mostly out of my price range. I'm waffling between a cargo van (high top preferred) or a conversion van I can strip easily.

With all that said, I haven't really ruled out anything except Class A and brand spanking new! I feel like the Man Upstairs is gonna present the perfect option at the precisely perfect time (for Him, not me) and I just need to remember everyone's advice here and go slow and listen to my gut... if it doesn't feel right, don't buy it. I own a Montero Sport because I wanted an SUV and I just couldn't wait! It was lots of problems and money to make right and my college kid now has it to look cool with his frat buddies! And NO, I could not live in an SUV, although Bob's video of the woman who does is pretty awesome!

Ho Boy... Where to start.

The best way to go about this is to actually look at other dweller vehicles, and see how things are done.  Draining grey water on the ground is not a good idea.  First, against the law, puddle, smell, bugs, angry neighbors...   :s

Solar.  Along with solar is batteries.  To determine what would be best, you have to have an idea of what you want to power...

Hot water...  Gas or electric?  Stove? Fridge? Shower? Storage?

Vehicle.  $$$

My recommendation is to look at different vehicle options with someone that will keep you from buying the first day.  (been there.  )

You have my contact information..
