Hello all! Nice to be here.

I'm a single guy, retired in my early 40's double dipping military and civil service. A few weeks ago, I bought an amazing Tioga that had been stored in climate control for 14 years! It's still got that "New car" smell. Hahha.

My dream has always been to live on the road full time, I love the outdoors and I'm so excited to start. I have a month left before the big day where I take off and get FREE.

Living is important to me. To do this, I believe you have to connect the dots, from the here and now to past memories where you had true joy. For me it was traveling with my grandparents around the country in an RV. I....can't....wait.

It's good to be here!

Welcome to the CRVL Forum   :)

LOL  Once it gets in your blood you'll always want to go back to it.   I did a bunch of it with my Dad as a kid
and have found ways to use a Van in my work-travels,  and am now looking for the time I can spend part of my year on the road until I retire and can be full time.

All the best with your new-2-U rig.   Take it out on the long week ends and get it limbered up for the longer hauls.

Post us some pictures when you can too.

By the way,  I have a couple sites below and the lower one may be of interest to you.  It's for using once you are on the road.  You may find it interesting and helpful in your travels.

Welcome! best of luck to you
Climate controlled or not, check all the hoses and such, they do dry out over time, so make sure you don't find the bad ones by surprise

I agree, that's a nice set up!  Welcome aboard!

It's a 30' Tioga. It's got a heavy tow package, I'll be towing my Wrangler. I tested the hot water heater today, SO freaking hot! Should I keep it that way or try to lower it???

I use a remote oven temperature gauge (for inserting into the meat while it is in the oven).  I stuck the probe between the WH insulation and tank with the remote readout where I can see it.  I set the alarm on the gauge to go off at the temp I set (I use 100F).  When the alarm goes off, I turn off the WH and take a shower using only the hot water valve.  No standing there trying to mix the hot and cold for the right temp.  I use a lot less water that way.  I think this is the one I am using:  https://www.amazon.com/Taylor-Preci...4&sr=8-6&keywords=oven+thermometer+with+probe

I first looked into trying to find a much lower thermistor , but I stole this idea from somewhere else on the web.

Oh, and hi, welcome to the forum.
