Hi there...
Decided to buy a van and go mobile as I am struggling with the high housing costs in the UK even though I work full time.
Been hunting around for a little time for a suitable 3.5 tonne panel van on a bit of a tight budget. The 2nd hand supply is not bad in the UK, white van man a common sight on our roads, but miles can be high 300,000 plus , ruled out Ford Transits as they tend to be very rusty in my price range, the same with LDV Convoys. Wouldn't buy German on principal and the French stuff can be problematic mechanically.
So I have gone Italian and bought this.....

2004 Iveco Daily 35s12
She has a 2.3 common rail turbo diesel, 4.5x1.8m load bay with 2.1m headroom, has done 97,000 miles and cost me £2400 (I have no idea what that is in Dollars). I am the 3rd owner from new and she was a support vehicle for a Motor Racing team
Alll the best to you all Justin

Welcome to the CRVL Forums   :)

Good show that !   I think you'll be enjoying mobile life before long and hope you can travel Europe as well as the UK.

Let me invite you to browse my websites below.   If there are any ideas contained in them that would be of use to you,  please have at them.

The first site is for a quick conversion so one could go Day Tripping or week end camping during the milder months of the year.   The second is a Portal of handy information one can use to plan journeys or use while on the road to navigate to find needed services or comforts.  There is also a Currency Converter you may find handy.

The RV industry in the USA has really taken  off in the past few years.  Even Fraternal Lodges which have had dwindling membership numbers are beginning to remodel their parking places to accommodate traveling members of other chapters of the Lodges.  Offering privileges of the Lodge, Libation, WIFI, water, electric shore power, waste disposal, etc for a competitive fee with other facilities.  This is beginning to be recognized
as a way to build Lodges back up.   I listened to my Lodge "ER" report on this just last night as he visited another Lodge about 400 miles away with our Esquire who is also a District Deputy.  He reported that they
had some 40 RV's there on average each night.  (for $15 USD a night)   The Capital infused into these struggling Lodges and for the traveling members is a win win.  So there is finally some discussion of our Lodge
considering this at a new location for the Lodge Building.   I've been working to raise consciousness of this with all of our Trustees over the past year.   Now,  "I think they've got it".  LOL

All the best in your travels !

Welcome aboard !
Race support vehicle means it probably has enjoyed great maintenance. Price sounds pretty good also.
You'll be able to make that into a nice rig!

Ask any questions you have and the cumulative tribal brain will respond with the perfect answers  .....well maybe a few that are not so perfect but it's all about what you do with them. ;)
