Newbie finally stepping out of lurking.  :D

I'm Sharon, 55, from S.E. Alabama.   My username comes from my love of my chihuahua furbabies.

My current vehicle is a 2003 Chevy Venture.  My adventures for now can only be short road trips and some camping.  My mom is 89 and her health is slipping, but I feel blessed to still have her.  My journey will begin when it should.

Many thanks to the members here, a lot of good info has got me off to a good start in testing the waters.

Sharon,
My full-timing was cut short after a little more than 6 months for the same reason as you are staying put now. I think we will both enjoy good memories of our moms when we are on the road of the times we are stationary now.

Maybe share a few pics of how you are using your rig when you next go out for a camping trip?

Welcome to the CRVL Forums   :)

I feel for your situation and admire your willingness to be there for your mom.   I've been involved
with looking after several of my old folks as well and having some things to plan for the time when I would
be on my own was vital to my own mental well being.

So,  you have the private moments to plan for a future that will eventually come to you.

I'd invite you to check out the bottom link below for planning trips you may like to take in the future.
Some maps  will allow you to take a virtual tour on the road to places and see them via your computer.

Where ever you see the little orange "Peg Man" you just drag it to the map and the roads will light up in blue.
A moment later you will see a photographic view just like you're looking out of the windshield of your Van.

When you see a map with the orange peg man in the legend,  you put your cursor to it.  Notice it will lean out to your cursor.  Then drag it to the map and notice the roads that turn blue.  Put the PegMan on one of the roads and wait a second or two and you will get a photographic view.  On the roads there will be arrows you can click on to advance down that road.  There will be a compass you can turn which will allow you to turn in
all directions.  If you want to travel down the road the other way or back track,  you do that with the compass and then click the arrows on the road.   It's like being there in your Van.  So  if there are places of interest you would like to go see...you can do that on your computer.   I'd suggest keeping a note book if you see things you'd like to go see  later when you get on the road.   This way you can research some and plan.

Hi Sharon! I just got a my very first Chihuahua this last fall. It was quite a surprise considering I really thought I'd been looking at much bigger dogs this time. But I have to tell you she is just a joy and has stolen my heart! Welcome to the forums!
