Hi from CA

Hello all,

I'm an aspiring van dweller... I first got the idea/itch years ago when a good friend of mine was traveling and living out of his suburban. He did that for his own reasons, but the I like the idea just because of the simplicity of life that it demands and the low cost of living vs. renting an apartment or house.

I don't move around much, as I'm in a steady career, but ditch town as often as I can on the weekends and for the occasional vacation. I'm curious if I can make it work.

I'd like to pick up a sprinter (a few of the local businesses have them, so I think one might blend in) and fit it up. There are a handful if other vandwelers that I've seen around town, and I still need to talk to them about parking and whatnot in the local area.

It's been a while since I've read up on this stuff, but might browse your forums some. Any advice you have to offer is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum! A Sprinter would make a nice van! Should be plenty of&nbsp;room to make conversion modifications depending on which model. &nbsp;I'm heading up to your neck of the woods tomorrow bright and early to go fishing for salmon at the Sacramento river.&nbsp;My first time going on a fishing trip on a boat with other peeps! Hope you learn lots here.
