Figured I would ask here....lots of engine type people in here. I drive a 93 Toyota corolla. Car starts fine. But the engine is making a loud clicking noise. The more gas I give it the louder & faster the clicking gets. I'm am currently broke down in Missouri about 46 miles from my destination. Any idea of what it could be? And yes I have checked the oil & it's good.

Full power. Lights work. Radio works. The 12volt charger is working cause I am charging my phone.

Oh wait. Do you mean engine power? If so....it seemed light it was not "putting out" like it was. I decided to pull over and that's when all the clicking started. I have been driving all day from Dallas to Southern Illinois. Broke down in Missouri right now.

any dash lights come on..."Check Engine" or anything??

but the engine runs OK other then the noise, huh??

I'm wondering if you've got a bad pushrod or rod bearing. Hard to say without hearing it mysself.

I suggest you find someone to have a listen to stop the guess work, it may be minor, like a freyed belt, water pump however if you have lost power it doesn't sound too good. I wouldn't run it. Good luck

A friend came & got me to take me to southern Illinois. My car is at a gas station and I have 48 hours to get it before they tow it. My aunts neighbor is a mechanic. Thanks for all the suggestions. Hopefully its nothing to expensive. I'll keep ya updated.
