Hi All,
I live in WNY and have been interested in this lifestyle for a while now. I’ve pared down my belongings and am hoping to transition to living in my suv in the not too distant future. I’m looking to head south and/or west. Looking to learn and share. I’ve been watching Bob’s and others videos for info and inspo. Thanks for this forum!

Welcome pilgrim to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome to the forum. Building a bed in a SUV will give you storage underneath. A lot of SUV floors are uneven so sleeping on the floor can be a pain. Not having storage under where you sleep means things need to be stacked next to the bed. You may find it annoying having to move a bunch of stuff anytime you want to do something. I built a bed 12" high in a Dodge Caravan. it was able to store things in milk crates underneath.

I have a cot in a RAV4 and have bins underneath that slide out for access. The bin by the passenger door can slide either outside or inside. Arrange it so you can park and just slip into bed for a nap when needed.
