Hello, I’m a 55 year old former truck driver that will be living in a van at the end of next month. I had lived in semi-trucks off and on for the last two decades. I gave up trucking due to what it was doing to my health and animosity in general. I’m looking at 1992 to 1995 Ford  E250 extended vans .  I have a vast mechanical back ground and built the house power system in my last semi-tractor.  I also work for a major auto parts supplier, so I can get parts discounts.  My biggest problems will be my beagle and the area I work in and will be stealthing in. I have already joined a gym in the area for my workouts and hygiene.  My goal is to get a position with my current employer (or another) where I travel around the country for projects or to fill positions temporality then move on, and to move into a RV.

Hello! I'm new to the forums as well. It sounds as if your background in the trucking industry will make your transition much easier...

I'm curious what kind of work you do that you could travel around the country for projects etc? I'm looking at all possiblities for work (do not have a mechanical background) and wondering what others might be doing?

Best of luck with your transition into vandwelling!!
