I grew up in Massachusetts, majored in Art at UMass in the 1980s, drove buses while a student, and worked for a tour company afterward, camping all over the U.S. for 2 summers. I moved to Southern California in 1989 where I entered an electrician apprenticeship. I’ve been an electrician ever since, purely for money reasons. I would rather be an artist. The work I do in construction enables me to travel. Right now I’m in the Vegas area. I just left California this year (2019) and have become a Nevada resident, living in my Chevy Express van. I have always rented, never married and have no kids.

I’ve met a lot of nice people at the RTR and visiting caravan1 for a few days. I look forward to retiring and living as a nomad sometime in the next few years. Glad to be here

Perry, we're happy you've joined us. Welcome to the CRVL forums! I also grew up in MA. Now, I'm holed up in Henderson, at my son's, taking care of some medical stuff. It's been COLD!

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

A whole lot of folks get back around to working full time at their art career after retiring from that full time day job. So you have to be real careful not to slide into having way too much fun making art after you retire.

Welcome to the forums...nothing stopping you now from becoming an artist. There is plenty of solitary time, and beautiful scenery to inspire your artistic side involved with vandwelling.
