Hey van-dwelling elders!
just introducing myself to you all before I beat your patience senseless with a volley of stupid questions haha,
I'm an Oregon resident, about to end his lease in a month or so and adopt his dream lifestyle of stealth camping through to the end
of the autumn of 2019, ive wanted to do this for about two years but fear and laziness has held me back until now.
I have limited funds and I'm short on time, but I got a lot of creativity and hopefully those of you friendlies out there will have some ideas
and tips to send my way.
I don't have a van yet, ill be getting one next month, fortunately if I get my dreamvan but have to rough it for a bit before making modifications I have enough camping and survival gear to get by (though uncomfortably)
as I make upgrades should the circumstances warrant it, it'll be kind of an improve as you go type situation haha.
I'm looking at trying to get my hands on standard size 70s dodge van as I have some experience with the small-block Mopar LA v8s that come in them standard, I'm pretty handy automotive-wise so that much I'm not too concerned over.
mostly I'm on here for two reasons, brainstorming ideas for my vans conversion process, and getting to know fellow sane-maniacs who appreciate the freedom of van life and are commited to overcoming its trials and tribulations with a positive outlook.

I'm an artist and a writer and all I need is a place where I can create at the end of the day before getting some sleep, somewhere I can cook a quick breakfast and take out to the boons occasionally, not too big on screens or electronics.
I'm excited to learn from you all :)

Cheers!
Oliver

Welcome to the CRVL forums Oliver! Can you tell us a little more about where you're planning on stealth camping? Even if you need to be in a city during the day there may be places to boondock nearby.

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

Good luck! A lot of nomads make a living through their creativity and ingenuity just like you're envisioning. I read Bob's book last night on his personal how to. Good read and reread.

All it takes is a bed and a cooler to get started. Many of us started out that wAy. Looking forward to hearing about your journey

We've got some great shoppers here. Don't hesitate to ask for help locating a vehicle. Just give us your priority list and region

Hey sorry about the late reply, lifes been kind of hectic this past week or so,

I live in portland OR, and unfortunately am not making a living off my creativity yet,
i work swingshift at a warehouse, so i am kind of bound to to the area.
thankfully though my job has one of those tax writeoff weight rooms with an adjoined shower so i at least wont have to get a gym membership to shower.
Id really love to figure out how to work remotely but it seems most of those jobs are rooted in coding and software, which i cant do for a couple of long-winded reasons.

Welcome to the CRLV forum.

You can find all of your answers here.  I don't know what type art you engage in but I wonder if it is illustration of what  you write ?

If you are not familiar with "Sunshine Artist" magazine for those who sell arts and crafts at Art Shows & Events check the link below.
