United Airlines,,,,,,1st. they "assisted " a passenger,,then they ""helped" a mother with a stroller,,,,now they killed the worlds biggest RABBIT,,,,,, you can't make this stuff up

You forgot the passenger getting stung by a scorpion, and the wedding couple getting bumped

said a spokesman somewhere,,,the rabbit was being"unruly " and the crew was"takin care of business"

But ,all that wonderful publicity will surely help with their profit margin! ??????

Their losses are in the millions already, plus the CEO lost his Board Chair seat because of his initial response. Still gets millions for being a dipshit, so I guess he doesn't care.

Rob

I wish I was a big enough dipshit to make millions for not working lol

"Have we got any live animals in the cargo hold?"

"Just a big rabbit."

"Oh, it's probably for eating. We'll just turn off the pressure, heat and oxygen, and save a few bucks."

I have a hunch every airline commits these atrocities on a weekly basis, however United took it to a new level with that one incident and now they're under the proverbial microscope. They better hire a new PR firm and do it fast. Half price flights and a few good PR stories and the public will be quick to forget

Do a google search on animal mishaps on airlines and you'll be reading a lot of sad stories about people's dogs who died and/or suffered horribly in transit. I'm sure most arrive to their destinations fine, but i'd be scared to ever put my dog in a cargo hold.

I've seen that myself, lots of petitions on change.org about airlines killing, injuring, or wrongfully confining animals
Of course, on C.O, you only get one side of the story

I flew from Miami to Sarasota, Florida - I had four dogs. They could only accept 2 dogs per flight so 2 were on my flight and the other two were supposed to go on the next flight. They sent those to Chicago. By the time they got back to Sarasota they had been in their crates for 14 hours, although they told me they had given them water in Chicago. I believe it was Delta that time. But that was in 1980 so there was no such thing as even an apology.

With all the bad publicity United has been receiving lately, are we taking odds on how long before they go under?

IanC, poor dogs!! Out of my approx. 15 domestic flights, I had problems with 95% of them (lost luggage, delays ranging from 3 hrs to 14 hrs, cancellations, etc).

I just drive everywhere....still waiting for that bridge to Hawaii!

If the term 'budget' is in your lexicon, Hawaii is VASTLY over rated

DOG TRANSPORT STORY!

Years ago, a military man and his family were coming back to Calif from an Air Force base in Japan. They came back on a plane, their terrier mutt was supposed to be on the same plane. When they landed, the cargo hold was emptied, and there was no dog. The base in Japan was called, and they had no record of a dog being put on any flight. Days passed. Ten days, to be exact. Then they got a call and were told that a dog carrier had arrived with their name on it. The dad didn't take the kids, because he was sure the dog was dead. The crate was pointed out, sitting by itself. As he approached, he saw a black nose and heard some whining. Dog was there, dog was alive, dog was in good shape. Dog's crate had an envelope taped to it.

The dog had been shipped to Guam. The dog wasn't on the shipping manifest. If there had been any paperwork, it was gone. All that was on the crate was the owner's initials and name. A worker took the crate home and took care of the dog, while he tried to find out where it belonged. He kept running into 'we don't know nuthin' about no dog' routine. Finally, someone put two and two together and they figured out where doggo was supposed to go. The bottom of the message said that his kids were crazy about the dog, and if they decided they didn't want him, to send him back.

Finally, a happy ending airline story. :)
