Grounding a solar system - What parts do I ground?

^^^By connecting the camera to both positives of the batteries you will have effectively connected both batteries positive posts a really, really bad idea unless you like the smell of smoke and possibly like putting out fires or maybe need a new camera.
 
I have a back-up camera and blind-spot cameras (hooked to turn signals and trans.) connected to my engine battery. Then I found a 12v DC DVR and 4 cameras (360deg.) connected to the house. 2 completely different systems. I also connected the DVR to my 12v DC cellular modem so I can monitor it remotely. Works great!
 
By running all appliances directly to the battery (Maybe through a block) you can monitor your usage. Battery monitors use a shunt on the ground wire in order to 'read' how much you use. It is always better to run both wires, negative to the battery ground and positive to the battery positive (with a fuse or breaker in line).
