Hi all, my name is Susan but I go by Lotus on Youtube.  I live in Vermont with my husband, youngest son (oldest is at college), and two pugs.   I recently purchased a travel trailer with hopes of expanding my world (again), partly in thanks to all the Youtuber nomads I've been inspired by; you are my kindred spirits.  I won't be a full timer, but will be using my trailer for camping and traveling around the East Coast mostly.  I joined a woman's Rv group, which is my first foray into Rv life.

I spent almost 12 years active duty in the Navy (82-94), then two years with the USMC at Quantico (as a civil servant), transferring 10 times in those 12 years due to the "needs of the Navy."  I was tired of travel when I got out..tired of waking up and wondering where I was..but I'm ready to go out into the world and be a part of it... I am fortunate that I have a good husband, and a good life.  He encouraged me to buy the trailer, and is very supportive of my choices.

Thank you for all your support, Bob...Happy Trails :)

Welcome to the CRVL forums Susan! You must be waiting very impatiently for spring to come! :) Any plans made for your first trip?

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

Hello, and welcome!

Hear you about the waking up and not knowing where you are, grew up military and in the 60's they moved us constantly, went to 14 schools before I ever got to high school.

Great group here, and loads of valuable info.

Welcome, Susan! Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

Thank you ALL for the kind welcome, it means a lot to me....small acts of kindness, one person at a time, makes the world a gentler place. Thank you also for the tips and tricks, I'll definitely be looking at that. The ladies group I joined is called Sisters on the Fly (SOTF), and my first camping trip will be in June. That should give me enough time to learn how to back it up (!) and maybe even drive it. :) I'm a bit nervous, but I know I'll get the hang of it. Well, thanks again!

Welcome to the forum.  I can't backup a TT either, a friend once talked me into putting a cheap bumper hitch on the passenger side of my front bumper.  It sure made it a lot easier to guide the TT into a spot.

Greetings and Salutations! I have only been to a couple places along the east coast, but Eastern U.S is beautiful and full of possible adventures. Have fun!

Welcome aboard the good ship CRVL !
I've spent most of my life waking up in different places , I put a post-it on the ceiling above my head at each new place to help me remember where I am !
