Gmc Safari/Astro, connecting ignition/alternator

Anyone have an Astro/safari? I'm wondering what is the easiest path from the alternator to go inside the van to a homemade panel that will sit right between the front seats. I pulled of the doghouse and I do not see any light, hole or path to the engine compartment. I see many holes from under the hood to the underneath but I would rather not drill a hole back up if I could avoid it.

Ok, I just watched a video on how to really remove the doghouse, wow! Alot but I'm going to do it. I really wish I had taken some mechanics classes. I'm not dumb, although as I age... I believe I'm getting more and more dumb, especially with tech. I used to design oil refineries out of Chicago... A hundred years ago before my disabilities forced me to quit. That field of study is just not helping me now, even if I could remember any of it ?
