Wish I could put a photo in here.

Looks like a Morgan Cargo Body on the back that's been converted.

186,000 miles and they want $75,000 for it?  RIDICULOUS!

And I must gently correct friend Cammalu.  4X4 isn't magic, and there is no way a vehicle this size is "go anywhere".

Overlanding rigs like this are not "off-road vehicles".  They are "bad-road vehicles".

Our rig is similar sort of, except we don't have 4x4.  I wouldn't sell ours for $75k (but I know I couldn't even get that much for it).

Not magic??? What?? I was counting on it. [emoji851]. I've about given up hope for a 4x4 anyway. Too few and far between... I really think I'm going to end up with a Leisure Travel Van. They are built really nice and look comfortable.

Deep down we all know you want it.

I see what Zonie did, that's a pic from the ad.

I have known 4x fusos to to get out on some dirt tracks. Way more capable than just "bad roads", but then you have to figure in the driver as well. Not everyone can take a "real" truck off on the tracks, and then bring it back. ;-) I've been places that regular 4xs have trouble and pulled a 17', 3 ton trailer through w/o issue.

Let me clarify what I was trying to say.  I don't mean that these trucks don't have SOME off-road capability.  It's just that when you are really overlanding, you usually aren't off road.

Take Iceland, for example.  About a third of the roads there are paved, the other two thirds are gravel.  And on many of those gravel roads, there are NO bridges, only fords.  And it's actually illegal in Iceland to drive off road, destroys the plants and they never grow back.

As far as "go anywhere", I've seen some custom built jeeps, ultra low gears, a doubler on the transfer case, etc. that will go places you could NEVER take a truck that size.

Be careful challenging Wolf like that, he might just accept! My son showed me some pictures from a little jaunt a bunch of them took at last years RTR. Wolf took his 6x6 most of the same places the dirt bikes went.

Hey come on! That third pic looks do-able. :)

Makes me wonder if the winch line is the main pull, or if they're just using it as a safety, in that first pic.

I'm just happy that my truck will do things that I'm not willing to. :-D

A Jeep shows its off road prowess best in the woods, where the short wheel base becomes necessary to navigate between tight trees. Out in the desert and rocks a big enough truck can go over them if not around them. Actually, Wolf's truck would go over some mid size trees, too, but I don't think he's that kinda guy.

what blows me away is the spectators standing around in the danger area if that winch cable were to snap. highdesertranger
