To increase space and access, is there a way to remove part of the back wall of a pickup truck (in addition to taking the window off the truck and camper shell)? Total newbie here, just wondering....

you really don't want to take the back wall out unless you know what you are doing. the cab would need to be reinforced to make up for the removed sheet metal. now you can remove the back widow if you have an older truck with a gasket window. I have never done it on a glued in window. I like to pull the widow and install a accordion boot. I have one on my truck now. I have posted pics on other threads and explained how to do it. if you can't find it with search let me know and I will dig it up. highdesertranger

There is a glass company ad stating windows are a structural consideration in a roll over. Never had a problem with older trucks but you might want to do some research with newer vehicles as some states have safety inspection requirements as well.

I'd be okay with the pickup bed, but not the cab of the truck. An accordion boot or similar would be as far as I'd go, if just for the amount of effort involved. There may be other solutions in the box truck category which you might want to check out. It might be easier to buy one of those than to do that project on your own. Or, buy a van!
