TOLL-BY-PLATE is an image based electronic toll collection system. All plazas located on florida turnpike homestead extension, from mile post 0 to mile post47 have ben converted at this time.     Eventually, florida turnpike intends to convert all of the toll plazazlocated between golden glades and interstate 595 interchanges. the convenience of toll-by plate may be extended to other segments of floridas turnpike as well
my toll was $2.60 and handling and procesing was $2.50 for a toll of$5.10 sent to my home address.                                                                                                                                                                                                     l

Much better off if traveling in Fla to get a toll patch. Available at most retail stores such as CVS.

This is where we are headed. Eventually we will 'pay as we go' and will charge by the mile. This is not cool.

Wonder how they handle vehicles pulling a trailer, or rvs flat towing a dingy?

Regards
John

Toll patch cost $5 in vending machine. Activated it with app on iPhone. Had to put in ten dollars to activate. --- for magical Florida tolls

I avoid the toll roads wherever possible. I remember when the FL Turnpike was coming up on it "pay off" date. The state decided it was time for "upgrades" and announced the "pay off" date would be extended to pay for the "upgrades". When I-95 was extended, everyone said the FL Turnpike would close down due to lack up use. According to family members, it's still just a busy as it ever was and it was still a toll road. The FL Turnpike will be a toll road forever.

I have a map and I know how to use it. I have yet to see anyplace I "had" to go to, that I "had" to use the toll road. I did get lost once and we got on the deserted Twilight Zone toll road someplace in VA or W.VA. Never could figure out where we were, how we got there or was quite sure how we got off of it, but we weren't the only ones who have been on it.

They may charge per axle.
