I had the opportunity to tour the NORAD computer center in Duluth in the early '60.  Four story concrete blockhouse; three stories were vacuum tube computer guts.  Rows and rows of vacuum tube drawers.  Very hot inside, had to exhaust the heat even in winter.

Just think of the unbelievable productivity loss ratio of some kid surfing Facebook on what would have been unobtanium 50 years ago.

I'm an I.T. guy. I still have some old saved equipment. I attached an 8" floppy drive and a 32 gb micro sd card onto a hand hewn board. I donated it to a friend that teaches at the local high school. It's a good visual aid.

I remember the first computer my family got when I was growing up.....a Tandy 2000.

The company I worked for in the early 90's still had customers that needed them...
And we rebuilt them as needed...

And let's not forget how the pricing has changed per byte.
Example, in 1985, right after the Macintosh came out, folks were buying 5mb hard drives for 5000 bucks!

And the first laser printer that came out was over seven grand! And it didn't work all that well!
The tech for it was awesumm, but there was no real software to drive it to its full potential!

Heck, I bought a 400k external floopy drive for my Mac, it cost over 800 bucks!
The week AFTER I bought it, Apple dropped the 800k floopy for less money!

And yet, to this day, I guess I am an Apple fanboy! Thx, Steve Jobs!
