Cooking an egg with a mini inverter+ battery

for awhile (as backup power for modem/router...it's worked well in that role). So I wondered if it could also cook an egg with the mini Dash cooker

It works great...even though the dash is listed at 350watts and the inverter at 300watts. I now take these with me when car/van camping...lets you cook from your picnic table and you can take the charger and charge it (80V battery) from any nearby outlet.

Note: To reduce battery use...Plug in the cooker (with egg) for 2 minutes....and then let it sit for another minute unplugged. Perfectly cooked...and easy cleanup.

I have an Aroma 300W rice cooker, pulls 270W. Does the job.

Also a 1,000W hot plate, that only pulls 900W at full power. Also, does the job.

Something about not pushing to the max? A buffer for consumer safety? As if.

Probably using cheaper lower power components, and the label says higher power to compete on the shelf.

I've probably used the inverter/battery over 50 times with the mini cooker...so far no issues. It does have an internal cooling fan that cycles on only occasionally. I now even use the cooker for veggie burgers--about 9 minutes continious use plus 2-3 minutes off (with it's residual heat). This has been a nice addition and it's getting a lot of outdoor use. YMMV

PS Another neat trick is to wrap the cooker in a small towel during use...the extra insulation keeps the heat in...and the cooker will cycle off quicker (power saver) when it's up to temperature. And yes, I keep a close eye on it when it's plugged in & insulated.

This sounds like SPAM.............or maybe that's LONDON ?

I have a number of DASH appliances.......How would you ever cook "eggs in a basket" in a mini dash ?
I use a Kil-A-Watt and see NO "higher initial power draw" at startup

It's a Stand-Alone Inverter System !.............Battery/Inverter..............NO Vehicle Required

I Love my Dash Mini Bunt Cake maker...........I make Corn Bread Bites in it......One box of Jiffy mix.......Egg/Milk...... All dumped into a ZipLoc bag.....Just Clip a corner and pipe it into the cooker......takes me an Hour to cook the batch.....Four at-a-time......

Geez! they're just bigger than a Quarter !......And best-of-all they're ALL crust

I bought a greenworks lawn tractor (Costco)---and it came with 12 of the 80V batteries. I only use 4 at a time (for mowing)...so I have a few extras.
The inverter was a free gift from greenworks--(for writing up a review of their lawn tractor)....I believe it's about $90 on Amazon otherwise.

That Bunt cake maker sounds great...especially for cornbread! I imagine it's bigger than the mini griddle/cooker...so it might put me over budget on inverter power (?).

Those cakes are tiny....it's hard to count how many it makes 'cause Quality control X2 alters the count.........

I made quesadillas in the Aroma just a few weeks ago. Was also surprised to discover I could brown meat in it despite reading several people online saying it was impossible in a rice cooker. It's a versatile, low wattage cooking tool, & very easy to clran. Will occasionally hook the air fryer up to the car battery through an inverter, but mostly relied on the Aroma & a 10" Oregon Trail grill this spring & summer.
