I'm still pretty set on getting a Weeroll but I just got a quote from Millenium for a 6x12 Scout.  My issues with the Scput are that the interior walls and floor won't be finished (I would have to pay someone to do that) and it has a drop leaf axle. With the mods I want (2 windows, extra outlets, power roof vent) the price come see to about $4900.

My main issue with the Weeroll is that it's a 6x8. I could make it work but it will be tight. Standard in this model are 4 windows, electrical, finished walls and ceiling. For another $250 he will finish the floor for me.  Total for that would be $3650. To go to a 6x10 with similar modifications and standard finishes (windows, electric, all finished except floor) would bump it up to $6000. Oh and all Weerolls have Dexter axles.

Which way would you go?

It is easier to say "I can force myself to make that work" than it is in practice. It is easier to add some money now to get what you want than it is to replace what you buy down the road. Thinking gee I wish I had done something different can really suck over time.

Jim, were your ears burning? We were just talking about you in a FB group. ? The discussion was about internet and how you are the guru. Not that we understand everything you're doing.  LOL

I agree with using the Weeroll, in the 6X10. The Scout will be over 5 grand before you're done, and with more from the start the Weeroll with similar finish (before you build) is 1K more. I think that the foundation & space are worth that cost, adding to what Jim said.

The only way I might want a 6x8 is to delete the rear door in favor of being able to build an elevated E-W bed there and use the remaining floor and wall space for cabinets etc. But, you might also want one emergency window if you only have one door.

You might want to look at the smaller mini campers.  Its amazing what can be shoe-horned into a tiny space if you only have one door and dont lose wall space by having two doors. (side and rear).

Here's a few...yeah its a lot more money, but these are ready to tow! Figure all the stuff you would have to buy for the cargo trailer to make it livable....then compare the prices.

I just don't have the funds for something like that without seriously depleting my emergency fund. I also don't need or want all the systems. I won't be adding them all to the CT.  I will be going simple.  I figure my "build" will cost me $2000 for the basics of what I need/want. I might upgrade down the line on some things (dual zone refrigerator, more solar) but to start that will get me what I really need to live comfortably.

It's one thing to use one of these micro trailers on a weekend getaway, totally different thing if you are going to live out of it. You may want to consider the larger one...

My two cents.

Yep....well if nothing else, you can get an idea of what will fit in a small space.

Just for grins you might check the cargo trailer builders to see if they will delete the rear door, some do, and see if that will credit you back some money for a window or insulation...whatever works for you.
