Where ever you find me
I read about people using this in their c-head.

Where do I get it?

Walmart does not carry it...and I cannot order it for store delivery
Petsmart never heard of it.

Anyone know where they carry it on the shelf?
I expect the time will quickly come when I will not have an address long enough to get deliveries more than 5 days out.   Maybe not even that long.   So much simpler to walk in, but it, carry it out.

I was given some by another dweller who ordered it in from Amazon. She tried it in bucket toilet use and didn't like it.

I tried it in the C-Head and didn't like it either.

It took me wayyyyy too long a time to break it up. I ended up only breaking up one brick because it was so time consuming so it only gave me about a 1/3 of a storage container to put in to use.

I found it a little dusty in use so I had to clean the toilet seat after each application and it didn't seem to do any better than my usual pine shavings.

For all round ease of purchase, storage and use I vote for pine shavings from the pet section at W/M...cheap, compact until you pull it out of the bag and as effective as anything else.

The most likely place is a plant nursery, as it's usually used as a replacement for peat moss. It's an overpriced waste product shipped here from halfway around the world. The C-Head people probably figure if you are wealthy enough to spend $700 for their toilet, you're rich enough to pay the price for coir. Their website's FAQs say if you use it on a boat, to just dump the contents overboard. Does that sound like they give a **** about the environment? (Made in the USA)

Sawdust or crushed dry leaves would do just as well, since the only reason you would be using it is to control the odor. Unless you intend to stay in one place for six months at a time, you're not going to be actually composting it -- you'll either be burying it or dumping it in a trash container.

Actually C-Head has pine pet bedding as their first choice!

Whatever you choose to use it's purpose isn't to control odor since there is no odor when urine is separated from solid waste. It's to encapsulate it and to cover it up since most people think that looking at their own **** is gross.

I'm afraid you  *do not* have your facts straight on the C-Head.

I bought a C-Head "box" model a month ago & paid something just under $600--including delivery.  These units are beautifully designed, & while costly compared to a bucket, are well worth the money.  Sandy, the owner & designer of the C-Head is a dedicated permaculture gardener & *very much* cares about the environment!

The C-Head has absolutely NO odor, due to separating liquid from solids.  Sandy was for years a volunteer marine fireman, & originally designed these units for use aboard boats.  Nowhere I am aware of does he recommend  boaters dumping the contents overboard.

I used a Luggable Loo for two decades while traveling in Mexico in my VW Westfalia.  I managed fine, like so many do.  But if one can afford to upgrade to a C-Head so much the better.   I researched all other options before choosing the C-Head.  Tho less expensive than other brands, I chose it for its' simplicity & design quality.  The fact it was half the price of others was just a bonus.

C-Head is a small family business.  When I called to order my C-Head Sandy himself answered the phone.  His wife arranges the shipping, which is FREE.   In a world where so much junk is produced, I applaud Sandy & C-Head for producing a quality product that exceeded my expectations.

"I bought a C-Head "box" model a month ago & paid something just under $600"
Their website says two of their C-Heads are $699, and one is $729.

"Nowhere I am aware of does he recommend  boaters dumping the contents overboard."
Quote from their website:  Full-time cruising boat:  Discard urine in a public restroom.  Discard urine and solid waste overboard when offshore.

I'm glad that you're happy with their product and service.

I bought mine at amazon prime now and received it in 2 hours )
