Cat is tempting me...

<img src="/images/boards/smilies/nono.gif" class="emoticon bbc_img">Over at my bro-in-law's house where we are working on the conversion, this super friendly stray cat keeps tempting me.&nbsp; It keeps hopping in the van, crawling and laying around, demanding i pet it, and playfully stalking me and swatting me.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I was putting in some insulation on the floor and he just chilled on the bed watching me.&nbsp; He's friendly and obviously likes the van but i just don't want the added responsibility of a cat on top of everything else i'm taking on.&nbsp; I wish he'd be less lovable and do it somewhere else <img rel="lightbox" src="/images/boards/smilies/rofl.gif" class="bbc_img">

<p>food containers, cat food,&nbsp;&nbsp;water,&nbsp;&nbsp;kitty litter, vet bills, hot days, smell,&nbsp;20 to 40 dollars a month, feed and water every day&nbsp;for&nbsp;up to 20 years. <br>snuggles, companionship,<br><br>It doesn' t add up in my mind but some people have different math. good luck...<br><br></p>

did it break skin or just hurt.&nbsp; if it broke skin you&nbsp;should have it checked by a doc.&nbsp; some cats and dogs play a little to rough because they don't know any better you must lay down the law.&nbsp; I don't mean physically abusing them just show them who is boss.&nbsp; &nbsp;highdesertranger

Didn't break the skin put it was close...no worries.&nbsp;&nbsp; It was a house cat till recently so its not a complete stray either.&nbsp;

Why did she try to bite you?&nbsp; Did you try to pick her up? Some cats hate being picked up.

No just petting her (she insisted..).&nbsp;&nbsp; Then she got playful and started swatting my hand, when i pulled away she latched on my arm and dug in pretty hard.&nbsp; I think she started playing and instinct kinda took over.

Reply to Dazar: What you describe is pretty common even with older cats. They have to learn that human hands are not toys.
