"A pregnant woman and two of her children died from carbon monoxide poisoning inside a camper in Kansas this weekend, officials confirmed."

Doesn't say where the carbon monoxide came from.

Something malfuctioned (stove) or improper use of a heater or generator (too close to open window). Keep us updated.

She was pregnant so there were 4 souls lost. Days later and nothing further. The alive husband strangely also lost a bunch of stuff in a garage fire in 2019. I'd imagine possibly "foul play" could be being looked at since they are not saying what the source of exposure was (not hard to figure out quickly imo).

As it happened in the morning it might have been caused by a defective propane furnace that was not venting properly. . The mother and children could have been asleep while the husband had gotten up early and was already outside for the race events. That seems the most likely scenario for how those three deaths occurred. A carbon monoxide alarm can prevent such a tragedy. But not all RVs have one installed as they are a power drain on the house battery.

The police do not comment on open investigations. This kind of situation does require a careful look at everything to figure out the true underlying cause.

Please everyone, don't let that be the reason you don't get a detector.

Battery powered carbon monoxide detectors. Small and inexpensive.
