Used to really enjoy this show...had some great DIY projects.

All the "real" milk crates I have seen (and have) are much heavier constructed than the "storage" milk crates you can buy in the stores. It least that's the way it seems to me. I have two in the bus right now (Dean Foods) that are foot stools (they slide up under the daybed) and one outside holding some scrap wood (Biltmore).

I do love Red Green. Some of the ideas made you think. My favourite is was the Humdinger he made (two vehicles duct taped together).

I think in Bob's van build blog post, he shows using milk crates as support under a plywood sheet... lifts up plywood and mattress and has great storage in the crates underneath. I don't think duct tape was involved, however. LOL

Found the blog with photos of crate bed in time to do an edit and include it here:

Thanks for the input you two, :) and the link to Bob's usage. I found the RedGreen video looking to see if a video had been done on using milk crates as I'm thinking of using them. :)

Maybe even a little duct tape will be used :)

I always did like the Possum Van.  Red Green did one episode where he took Moose's van  and cut the roof, rigging it to open like the Space Shuttle cargo bay doors.  It wouldn't be weather proof though....

Use at least a dozen rolls...

Gorilla tape is the new duct tape!
No. Duct tape has always been awful. I never understood why people bought it at all. Gorilla tape is what duct tape can only dream of being. That stuff totally rocks! And papers, and scissorses, and even lizards and Spocks.

Once upon a time, years ago, duct tape would stick to other things for more than a week. Now the sticky has gotten so weak that I think they are using the adhesive that is used on the 3M Post-it Notes.

The "duct" tape I use is Gorilla Tape, the aluminum metal duct tape and (sometimes) the Mylar duct tape. I like the mylar duct tape to use on Reflectix. All three stick and stick well. Lifespan is usually measured in years not days.
