Hi Everyone! My name is Patrice, glad to meet ya all! I have decided that this looks like the life for me but I know little of it. For many years I lived in a densley wooded forest so I am not unfamiliar with living outdoors. My husband and I built our home in the foothills of The Berkshires in MA. Well almost 10 years has past since then and I have moved around some, presently I am renting a room in my sons home in St. Pete, FL. In any event I saw the video Without Boundries and thought to myself I can do that.
I did my bit for God and Country, I was a good daughter, sister, wife and mother. I also had a long career as a hairdresser, then went to college graduating with a degree in Peace & Social Justice. I am now retired.
I feel as though this is my time, a time to do the things I want to do, go the places I want to see, before its to late. I have a small regular income I can manage with. So I plan on doing alot of reading of this forum, I have to start somewhere.
Patrice

Welcome to the CRVL forums Patrice! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

It may be too late for you this year but you should definitely take a look at attending either the WRTR or the RTR (Womens Rubber Tramp Rendevous/Rubber Tramp Rendevous) both held in the Quartzsite Arizona area in January. Check out the 'gatherings' section here for more info.

Welcome to the forums, and plenty of good reading on this site. Sounds like you won't get culture shock like some that try it for the first time. With a small regular income, you can start small, and grow as much as you are willing to take on. Try going to local state parks, with electric/water for your first few trips, and see how much, or how little of both that you actually need.

You can start with a tent from your car, with a cooler, and a sleeping bag, and move up from there.

Hi People, Thanks for your suggestions, advice and support. I need all the help I can get. I am no spring chicken anymore. And it might b a little late to start....I say better late than never. My time is mine own now so heres my chance to live my life my way. After all whats the worst thing that could happen? I've already lost everything...but life.

Welcome to you. Sounds like you are ready for a change and you have made a powerful decision for yourself. I will bet you are going to love it. Great luck and life to you. Peace, JayC :)

Any chance you can go to Wrtr this year? I know it’s short notice but you could fly out and rent a car or van or even drive your own car out.

You’d learn a lot
