Hey Everyone!

I don't think I've ever been so excited to join a forum or to experience a lifestyle. I have fantasized about van dwelling for a year or two now and I decided to buy a SUV since i'll be going to many remote areas here in Colorado. My lease ends in a couple weeks and I am really, really nervous, but more so excited for this journey. My main goal is to pay off 30K of student debt quickly another reason vehicle dwelling is so attractive to me is the freedom. I don't want to be locked into a lease and after my debt is paid off i'd like to spend months at a time overseas. I'm impressed with anyone that is strong enough to go against society and live this lifestyle. I've watched many videos and read many books about vehicle dwelling and I know that experience will probably be my best teacher, but i'm so glad this group/forum exists. I want to thank Bob for paving the way and everyone else for supporting this lifestyle.

Welcome to the CRVL Forums   :)

A couple weeks ago on "CBS Sunday Morning"  Jane Pauley covered a story about mid age people dropping out of Career Track Jobs and getting into this nomadic RV lifestyle.  The program showcased an older couple living in a Class A type RV,  but references were made about others in your situation doing nearly the same.

If you could find a job overseas that paid you well enough you could investigate becoming an "expatriate" and
get some great tax breaks.  There are some here on this board that are doing that now.  I think the trick is to move to one of the States that don't have a state income tax,  getting a drivers license there,  registering to vote, and getting an address like a PO Box, or a re-mailing service. (this is enough to show that you are a  legal
resident)  Then have an Tax accountant set you up for expatriating so that you could take a job off shore.
But you may want to speak with those on the board who are doing this for a more accurate "Picture" than I can give you.

What did you study in School ?

Welcome. But... CO in winter in an SUV?? Can you share how you are going to keep warm? Inside somewhere during the day and only in your sleeping bag at night? You are a hearty soul. LOL
