A book I like to recommend to those considering going on the road in a Van or RV of some kind is titled

Blue Highways

The book tends to get very good reviews.  It is a story about a man who goes on the road for a trip to
recover from some bad experiences and get his mind on to other things than what ails him.   But during the trip he has the opportunity to rediscover himself in a way he hadn't expected.

Blue Highways are the  secondary roads on a Map which are inked in the color "blue".   Roads which may give a more leisurely view of life in the country side than what the Interstates and Super Highways would provide the driver.   Those considering the Van life may benefit from reading this book before departing.
