Hi,

The other day, while browsing for vehicles, I typed Unimog into Craigslist because I really like Unimogs, not because I think it would be a practical choice.  There is a really nice, well maintained, 1990, former ambulance for sale for just under $120,000.  Yup, 6 digits.  I looked at the pictures, admired the Unimog and moved on.

The I got one of those unsolicited posts on Facebook based on searches, cookies and breadcrumbs.  It was for a camper trailer from Australia that looks like it could go 4X4 even without a tow vehicle.  It looked like it would laugh at most tow vehicles.  Then I remembered the Unimog.

I think that if I can find a quarter million dollars in the near future I'll try to put these 2 together.

These are hardly the travelling light type of vehicles I'd prefer to take, irrespective of budget!

I may be the odd one out, but I don't want to take all the comforts of home with me, that's partly the reason for travelling.

The thought of taking that huge and thirsty Unimog doesn't appeal at all, and it's unlikely to venture far from where locals in far less specialised vehicles travel, especially with that caravan.

Thankfully, there's something for everyone to consider, and these two will certainly appeal to many, just not me.

If you were in Flagstaff Arizona today and tomorrow you could go see such vehicles in person at the Overland Expo.

The trailer is well designed and engineered, though pricey.

Does it come with a gasoline refinery so you'll always have enough fuel?
