I've ordered two Crown GC2's, 6CRV220, from a local distributor and would like to be ready to roll when they show. I'm replacing two 12V so I'd like to order a length of 2/0 from genuinedealz for the new ones. My question regards the connector size... 5/16" on one end & 3/8" on the other, or one size both ends. The 12V batteries have 5/16" on the neg & 3/8" on the pos. Thanks for your help.

the hole in the lug should match what it's mounting to. the Crowns have 2 mounting options, right? the standard battery post and the Stud. what one are you going to use? if you use the stud match the lug to it. same thing on the other end match the lug to what you are mounting to. if you are using the battery terminal I recommend using military terminals. like these,

check out the thumb nails. they make a nice clean terminal. that site is out of stock at the moment but you can get them anywhere.
BTW I have bought from Prime 4x4 before small American company with great customer service. highdesertranger

Crown said their terminals are "standard" That means one part takes top post type terminals. One size for positive and a smaller size for negative. They also have a threaded post that takes a ring terminal. My standard is 5/16. Some others may be 3/8. I could not find the answer for yours. Wait until you get your batteries and lay out the arraignment, carefully measure the length of cables you need. Then order. GDz ships the same day he gets the order and you will have stuff in 3 days. You need good cable to connect the two 6 volts together to have 12 volts. Leave enough room for flex, but it can be too long to connect easily.

Thanks for your input! I have a couple of military terms in the box, I'd thought about connecting to the new battery's stud for simplicity. Thanks for the timeline on genuinedealz delivery as well as your measurement reference. Not having the batteries yet I was going a tad long on my measurement, (12"), and then allow a slight curve in the cable if need be. A reply to an e-mail I sent to Crown Batteries came as I was typing here! I had just sent my question to them moments before asking here, so kudos to them on the speedy reply. The reply states that 5/16" is preferred & 3/8" is acceptable. I'm going to take a look at those military terminals then see about an order @ genuinedealz when I decide on the connection. Thanks for the help guys.

When figuring out your cables, don't forget to allow for spacing between the two batteries. I used 1x2 turned on its' side to give the batteries their needed air space. Also it needs to be behind/in front of the batteries if you're enclosing them or butting them up against a wall of any kind.

it's perfectly fine to use either or both. BTW I have to check my studs(threaded terminal) every so often. every once in awhile one comes loose. pesky electrons are as bad as Tommy Knockers. highdesertranger

Good point my friend, thanks. The reason I went with the 6CRV220, (GC2) instead of the 6CRV260, (GC2H), was the fitment in my battery area. The larger ones filled it while the GC2's allowed for air flow. Thanks again

Not being a miner, I had to search Tommy Knockers and found americanfolklore.net Great story on the Tommy Knockers, thanks! Learning can be fun!
