I'm hoping someone can answer this. Is there anyway to change address without proof of residents via utility bill? I tried changing address to where we are currently (have had no issues doing so in past) and now they are requiring utility bill to prove residency. We use the Wal-Mart card and will be expiring before long. Opening an account with other banks ask for the same thing. Registration on truck and camper is almost due as well and running into same issues. Have any ideas?

I use Ally for mobile financial.

Most address requirements list more than a utility bill. How about a rent receipt. With no proof, I had no problem changing my DL and Registration to a new address. Did it right online.

Ally requires a street address but they mail a card to prove you live there.

Thanks for all the replies and ideas. I am unable to make it to Americas mailbox, as has been pointed out to use. Ally bank I had the same issues with address. Another acquaintance, where I am currently, pointed out Advanced America has netspend. So I gave them a shot and they were very helpful. All they had to do was use my address from my dl and add p.o. box as shipping address. Again thanks for helping.

I don't think this is part of the Real ID Act, but it's the same idea. basically, you have to have a physical street address to open a bank account, with documentation. The idea is to help prevent money laundering etc.

It's not aimed at us nomads--we are just collateral damage.
