Rainfall inches to date in Texas:

UNBELIEVABLE!!!

20" more rain is predicted to make matters worse.

This is an epic event and a once in a century event or rarer.

I'm glad I'm not there and I'm also glad that I can spare the $20 I sent to the Red Cross.

I need to find out how my cousin's place is faring east of Austin (he is out of texas at the moment). It was a miracle recent years ago the fire circled his property/home and didn't burn; again was out of state at the time. He was stunned by no damage.

Sad part, the stranded people are now shooting at the rescuers not stopping to pick them up.

I lived in Waller last year. I was house shopping and I saw water damage in a few places (inside homes) of over 24". They get 56 inches in a year. It's pretty rural for the most part but this can't be good. Yuk!

I was in a pretty good position as a result of my wheels. I was returning from my trip through Colorado, so I had the luxury of eyeing the situation to make sure San Antonio was fine (which it was) before rolling into town.

Ironically, my intended campsite in Junction (nearly 2 hours away!) got rained on, which was the final hint for me to get on home....
