Hi; just curious if anyone owns "camping land" in AZ or NV. Curious as to costs, bldg/zoning restrictions, experiences, advice etc.
Thanks to all................

We know a few people who do, as well as Or. Regulations vary more by county or town rather than state as far as I can tell.
Near bend, Or the county man told our friend only one RV was allowed on his 8 rural acres when we visited there. We moved a mile away to BLM land.
Another friend has property at Why, Az and has 4-5 RVs visiting nearly all the time with no problems.

I'm sure you can find something, especially in Az.
Near Pahrump, Nv we heard about some places that would probably work.
I know a couple places there where you can hang for months without issue...been there, done that and would again.

I have an acre about 30 miles south of the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Paid $2500 for it it, taxes are less than $50 a year. It's close to flagstaff so it does have some county restrictions.

Are you restricted from camping on that land part of the year?

I have land in elko county NV, paid about 13000 for it, had power a septic rv pad to park on and gravel road to it. To put a well in estimated cost is 20000! Be carful when buying land, I have had people stop by ask me if I knew of any roads to the property they own they would show me on the map and had tell them they need 4 wheeler or horse to get to it!

All land has restrictions check to see if living in an rv is allowed before you buy. If you want to build a shed you may need a permit depending on county regs.

I live on the North end of Pahrump Nv. We are surrounded by BLM land. In the winter months we get a lot of rv snowbirds. If you like RV parks the rates seem to be about $300 to $400 a month. There is one Walmart and one Home Depot. A couple of good sized grocery stores. Plenty of restaurants. I have not heard about boondockers on BLM land getting much grief. A friend rents a lot from a private party with a storage shed for her 16' trailer. She said she pays $250 a month. Nobody seems to object. We had a city council, but they all got relieved of duty because we are not a city. Most of us want nothing to do with being a city or having more Government than necessary. We come under the jurisdiction of Nye County. I would say we are a RV friendly town. A lot of the town's business increases when the snow birds are here.
We are about 60 miles West of Las Vegas. This summer was hot as heck. I would like to be somewhere else next summer. Maybe the Flagstaff area.

In some of the unincorporated parts of Mohave County you can park an RV or camp, as long as you don't build any permanent structures. White Hills, Dolan Springs and Meadview are a couple of the places I know of. There's a pretty good tweeker population and nothing is safe if you're not home.

In theory if you had 8 acres and not all of it was easily accessible or view able from out side the property lines then I'd say to myself, how would anyone know of authority? Well sure there is the possibility I guess of from the air, but otherwise there would be no cause for authority to enter your property with out cause. Right?

You would be able to thanks google and google earth for ratting you out. that's how the Mohave county officials search for non-permitted buildings and construction sites.
