I was doing a little poking around on Wikipedia, and I found a reference to the Pyrotechnics Guild International.

www.pgi.org

It's a membership group of the professionals who stage fireworks shows AND amateurs who are interested in fireworks.

Every year they have a weeklong annual convention which includes hands on training and fireworks competitions every night.

This would be an interesting thing to attend.

May be ok to attend and watch but I'm not into burning money. My tow vehicle does just fine at that. :)

Please don't use them here in the west where fire danger is so high.

We take in fireworks shows any time we get the chance.
Lake Havasu City, Az has a fireworks display (I think in Feb or March) that goes on for a few nights. Its more of a convention, with mfgrs showing their goods.

As much as I like launching cool stuff into the air, I refrain due to fire danger.
I'm not going to be the whako who starts a fire for the sake of a good time.
Plus...I ain't got money to burn.

A buddy of mine lives about a mile from Disneyland. He and his wife can see fireworks every night if they want to. I'm a regular visitor, so I get to see my fair share as well.

Don't know if it is the same group, but I worked with a guy who would travel to a 'fireworks' convention every year. He said it was the best fireworks he had ever seen. Different pros would stage a show each night and try to impress and outdo their peers. -- Spiff
